Foods that make you LOOK better – now what?

How can we successfully work these great foods into our diets?

There are a lot of articles out there that let us know what the “superfoods” are, what foods help make you healthier, and what foods help you look better.  Better skin can be achieved by eating foods high in Vitamin B, Omega-3 fatty acids, and anti-oxidants.  How can we include these items in our day without making it feel like a chore?

Avocados and apples are said to have anti-aging qualities.  We recommend checking out Eating Well magazine online for a great article, about avocados, including tips for buying them, how to use them, and some great recipes, including a healthy guacamole, avocado-corn salsa, and cobb salad.  Consider trying items like salsa on something beside chips.  Put it in your potato, salad or wrap to add some excitement to your plate!

The same website offers some excellent apple recipes, such as apple-slaw, curried apple scallop salad, apple, leak stuffed pork tenderloin, even applesauce and apple cupcakes.

Some other ways to spice up foods that help your skin or overall appearance: have some grilled chicken on hand to throw in your wrap or salad, try salsa on your baked potato, wash bright colored veggies on the weekend so you can grab and go all week, and add toasted flaxseed and almonds to your salad.  But remember this tip, it is easy to get caught in a rut with new foods when we don’t have fresh ideas on how to use them.  Give them a chance!  When you hear about (or look up) these valuable foods that make you look great – the internet is an excellent guide for ideas on how to incorporate them in your diet.  Some of the websites even allow you to rate your results and see what other people thought of the recipe, or how they changed it.

Do you have a personal healthy recipe or idea you’d like to share?  Send in your creations and we’ll try them out!  If your recipe is featured in one of our articles, we’ll send you a prize!
